Top Ten Tuesday

Top Ten Tuesdays

Today’s Top Ten at The Broke and the Bookish is Books that Intimidate me.

Top Ten Books that Intimidate me are:

  1. Legend by Marie Lu-Not sure why this intimidates me, but every time I think about reading it, something always stops me.
  2. Harry Potter Books by J. K. Rowling. Loved the movies, books look too big to read.
  3. War and Peace by Leo Tolstoy. Again looks too long to hold my interest.
  4. Anything by Jane Austin
  5. The Lord of the Rings trilogy by J.R.R. Tolkien, again loved the movies, don’t think I could read the books
  6. Anything by Stephen King
  7. Les Miserable by Victor Hugo, seen the Musical, can’t get myself to read the book
  8. Lord of the Flies by William Golding-Just the concept of the book and movie make me scared to read it
  9. The Host by Stephanie Meyer. Saw the movie, tried the book, just can’t do it.
  10. Daughter of Smoke and Bones by Laini Taylor-bought it, have it on my Kindle and for some reason won’t read it.

  1. If you loved the Harry Potter movies, the books are MUST! I know they get pretty big by towards the middle of the series, but by that time, you’ll be wishing they were even longer! That’s my favorite series in the history of forever 🙂 Daughter of Smoke & Bone is my second favorite in the history of forever. I was a little hesitant to start that one at first too, because I didn’t really know what to expect but it blew me away! (and the second book in the series was even better!) I really want to read Legend! Thanks for stopping by my TTT post 🙂

  2. I cannot say this enough to people: for those who liked (or even semi-liked) the Harry Potter movies, they HAVE to read the books. Really. There’s no comparison. They’re incredible. WAY better than the movies, promise you. And I know, I am obsessed with The Lord of the Rings movies, which is why I was always scared to read those massive books. But I took a fantasy lit class in 2012 and we were required to read all of Tolkien’s work — and might I say, I feel so proud saying I’ve read TLOTR, as I know you will too. And the story between Faramir and Eowyn is a million times better!

  3. I’ve got Legend and was pumped to read it that moment. Then I couldn’t for some reason and now I hesitate to pick it up.
I can totally recommend Stephen King though, especially his old stuff like Salem’s Lot, Carrie, Firestarter, and of course the Dark Tower series!
War and Peace is also on my list of books I want to read at some point in this lifetime…
Thanks for checking out my list yesterday!
