Goodreads and Description:

Avery has just met her hot upstairs neighbor. He’s irresistible. Tattooed. And a virgin.

Nursing student Avery Michaels wants nothing to do with dating—she’s perfectly happy single. Privy to too many of her mother’s bad decisions and even worse taste in boyfriends, all Avery can handle is a string of uncomplicated hookups whenever the mood strikes.

When she meets smoking hot tattoo artist Bennett, she wants him—for just one night. But he won’t accept a no-strings-attached arrangement. He lives by a straight-laced code of values based on his own troubled upbringing.

Bennett sees something special in Avery and he wants more from her. Way more. As Avery wrestles with her emotions for Bennett, danger and tragedy force them to open up to each other. And Avery must face the terrifying realization that she wants more from him, too.

So she needs to make a choice—let Bennett go or finally let him in.

My Review:

I had the opportunity to get a copy of this book from NetGalley as part of the Blog Tour by the SubClub Book Blog, and I am so happy I decided to be a part of that and get a chance to read this amazing book. WOW….that was my first thought after finishing this book.

We first meet Avery at a party, where she is looking for a hookup, a no strings attached, commitment free, hook up. She spots Bennett and his friend, however only his friend really speaks to her at the time. Then several days later mystery man Bennett moves in to the empty apartment in her building. Thus starting off their friendship of sorts.

Avery takes her independence to new heights; she refuses to allow herself to be like her mother, who relies heavily on having a man in her life. Part of Avery’s issues stem to one of the men that was in their lives while Avery was growing up.

Avery and Bennett start spending time together after someone tries to break into Avery’s first floor apartment; this is when Avery finds out that Bennett, a tattoo artist, is also a virgin. Something Avery is not used to. He’s also not the type of guy that will have a no-string, commitment free, sexual relationship with Avery.

Like any relationship theirs is up and down with wanting each other, but not being on the same page with how their relationship should be. There is also the matter of their family’s and a part of Avery’s past coming back to haunt her present. Throughout this all there is the growing relationship and feelings between them…..and the possibility that Avery could change her mind about what she wants from Bennett, and what she is capable of giving him.

This book was truly amazing and sucked me in from the first word. I highly recommend this book to anyone who likes a strong independent woman and a guy willing to work to break down her walls.
